Ísold Uggadóttir
Ísold Uggadóttir is an award winning screenwriter and director from Iceland.
Having achieved a MFA in directing and screenwriting from Columbia University School of Arts, she created four short films before making her first feature. Her first short film was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival in 2007.
Wanting to step away from the idyllic impression people have of Iceland, she decided to write her first feature about a mostly unknown side of her country, about a group of people that are not always recognised and mostly forgotten. In 2018, she returned to Sundance with this feature, “And breathe normally”, for which won her the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award.
